Composition
Syrup: Each ml contains Levamisole Hydrochloride BP 10 mg.
Pharmacology
Neotrax Vet stimulates nematode ganglia and leads to neuromuscular paralysis of the parasites. The parasites become paralyzed and
are expelled from the body.
Indications
Neotrax Vet is effective against round worms of gastrointestinal, respiratory and eye of livestock & poultry such as Dictaucoulus
viviparus, Ascaridia, Heterakis, Capillaria sp., Syngamus trachea, Oxyspirura mansoni etc. In addition, Neotrax Vet possesses activity
against benzimidazole resistant parasites.
Dosage & administration
Route of administration: Oral administration only
Livestock: 15 ml/10-20 kg body weight.
Or as directed by the Registered Veterinary Physician.
Contraindication
Levamisole is contraindicated in lactating animals (not approved). It should be used cautiously, if at all, in animals that are severely
debilitated, or significant renal or hepatic impairment.
Warning & precaution
While Neotrax Vet is given with water, no fresh water is allowed until the medicated water is finished.
Side effects
Common side effects: Adverse effects that may be seen in cattle can include muzzle foaming or hypersalivation, excitement or
trembling, lip-licking and head shaking.
Rare side effects: In sheep, levamisole may cause a transient excitability in some animals after dosing. In goats, levamisole may cause
depression, hyperesthesia, and salivation.
Use in pregnancy & lactation
Levamisole is considered relatively safe to use in large animals that are pregnant, use only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
However, risk & necessity
Drug interaction
With medicine: It can be used safely with other drugs.
With food & others: Not known.
Overdose
Signs of levamisole toxicity often mimic those of organophosphate toxicity.
Withdrawal time
Meat- Meat must not be consumed up to 28 days after administration of this medicine & Milk: Should not use in animal producing milk for
human consumption.
Storage
Store below 30° C temperature and dry place, protected from light.
Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
