Product Description
DESCRIPTION
Goutler™ Vet is a water-soluble oral powder medication used to prevent and treat gout in poultry as well as to reduce high blood uric acid levels.
COMPOSITION
Each gram powder contains Allopurinol BP 50 mg.
MODE OF ACTION
Uric acid is produced as a byproduct of the breakdown of specific proteins(purines) in the body by enzymes known as xanthine oxidase. Elevated uric acid levels can also result in kidney disease and kidney stones. Allopurinol inhibits the xanthine oxidase enzyme. It inhibits the conversion of hypoxanthine to xanthine and xanthine to uric acid by inhibiting xanthine oxidase. As a result, uric acid production is reduced.
