DESCRIPTION
Gentamicin is a powerful broad-spectrum aminoglycoside bactericidal antibiotic & active against
wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
COMPOSITION
Each gram GentestTM Vet powder contains Gentamicin Sulphate USP equivalent to Gentamicin
200 mg.
MODE OF ACTION
Its mechanism of action involves inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis by binding to 30S
ribosomes.
The oral Gentamicin is slowly and poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract hence it
concentrates in the intestine that shows its antibacterial action locally and leading to a high
efficacy against the bacterial gastro enteric infections.
INDICATIONS
GentestTM Vet Oral Powder is effective against a wide range of diseases of Poultry mainly caused
by gram- negative & gram-positive bacteria. Such as –
• Salmonellosis
o Fowl Typhoid
o Pullorum disease
• Colibacillosis
• Pasteurellosis
o Fowl Cholera
• Early Chick Mortality
• Enteritis
• CCRD
• Secondary Bacterial Infections
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
1 gm / 2 liter of drinking water for 3-5 days (5-10 mg / kg body weight)
Or, as per direction of registered Veterinarian/ Poultry Consultant.
