Composition:
Each gm Elcaris-Vet Powder contains levamisole HCL BP 300mg
Pharmacology:
Levamisole HCl acts by interfering carbohydrate metabolism of nematodes by inhibiting the production of succinate dehydrogenase. Inhibition of this enzyme causes complete and irreversible muscular paralysis of worm. Recently Levamisole hydrochloride draws much attention for its immune modulator properties. This drug corrects immunologic imbalance by modifying activities of T lympocytes and phagocytes and thus it has the greatest benefit in the immunologically depressed animals as well as birds. The tissue concentration of levamisole persists for 5 days.

Indications:
Elcaris-vet Powder is used for the eradication of nematodes of alimentary tract e.g.Ascaridia galli, Hetarakis gallinarum, Capillaria spp. and respiratory tract (e.g Syngamus trachea). Elcaris-vet powder can also be used orally with water to eliminate fowl eye worm (e.g. Oxyspirura mansoni).
Dosage & Administration:
0.08 gm Elcaris-Vet® Powder per Kg body wt. The following dosage schedule can be followed for effective deworming-
1 gm Elcaris-Vet powder mixed with 1 litre of drinking water can be used for 07 layer birds or 10 pullets or for 20 birds of grower stage (4-6 weeks age). Single application can ensure total elimination of worms. All other sources of drinking water should be removed during treatment with medicated solution.
Storage & stability:
Store in a cool & dry place (Below 15°C). Protect from sunlight & humidity and keep away from feed and out of reach of children.
Contraindication & precaution:
The drug is contraindicated in animals hypersensitive to active ingredient.
Side effect:
In therapeutic doses, there is no undesirable side effect of Elcaris-vet® POWDER in chickens. Even egg production; fertility and hatchability are not adversely affected.
