Indications:
This is an anticoccidial drug for treatment and control of coccidiosis in poultry. This combination is developed to take the advantage of the synergistic benefits of the three chemicals against a mixed infection of Eimeria acervulina, Eimeria maxima, Eimeria necatrix, Eimeria tenella, Eimeria brunette at relatively safe levels of each drug by itself.
Mode of action:
Amprolium probably acts by inhibiting thiamine uptake by parasites; this vitamin (thiamine pyrophosphate) is a cofactor of several decarboxylase enzymes playing a role in cofactor synthesis; amprolium cannot be pyrophosphorylated (lacks hydroxyethyl group); ethopabate (an arylamide containing one phenyl ring, belonging to monocyclic aromatics) is a very safe drug, and a competitor of PABA for absorption by the parasite. Sulphaquinoxaline is also a competitive antagonist of PABA, which stops metabolism of protozoa and other gram positive & gram-negative bacteria those are responsible to aggravate the disease. Amprolium+ethopabate have been combined with sulfaquinoxaline, to extend their activity spectrum and to improve efficacy against amprolium-resistant Eimerial strains.
Vitamin-C acts as an anti-stress factor and helps to synthesis Collagen. Thus regulates heat stress and helps in the repairing of intestinal ulcer. Vitamin-K prevents haemorrhage.
