Product Description
Composition
Each ml contains Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride USP equivalent to Ciprofloxacin 3 mg & Dexamethasone BP 1 mg.
Pharmacology
Ciprofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase ezymes ( specially topoisomerase-2) which causes negative supercoiling of bacterial DNA. So
bacterial growth is inhibited which causes death of bacteria. Dexamethasone inhibits leukocyte infiltration at the site of inflammation.
Indications
Cipro-D Vet is used against all types of bacterial diseases of eye e.g. Acute or chronic keratitis, conjunctivitis, opthalmitis caused by
gram-positive & gram-negative bacteria.
Dosage & administration
2-3 drops into conjunctival sac every four to six hours. During the initial 24 to 48 hours, the dosage may be increased to 2-3 drops
every two hours.
Or as directed by the registered Veterinarian.
Contraindication
Do not administer to animals with hypersensitivity to the active ingredients of the drug.
Warning and precaution
It should not be used more than 1 month after first opening of the bottle.
Side effects
Common side effects: Eye pain, redness, itching, lacrimation, blurry vision may occur.
Rare side effects: Not known.
Use in pregnancy & lactation
It may be used in pregnancy & lactation according to benefit or risk assessment
Drug interaction
With medicine: Specific drug interaction studies have not been conducted with ophthalmic Ciprofloxacin & Dexamethasone.
With food: Not known.
Overdose
If toxicity is seen then symptomative treatment should be applied.
Withdrawal time: Meat- 7 days.
Milk-Not known.
Storage
Store below 30° C temperature & dry place, protected from light.
Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
