Composition:
Each 100 gm Powder contains Carbasalate Calcium EP 76.32g (Equivalent to 60g of Acetylsalicylic acid) and Sodium Ascorbate USP 7.48g (Equivalent to 6.65g of Ascorbic acid)
Mode of Action:
Carbasalate Calcium is a 1/1 complex of calcium acetylsalicylate and urea. Compared to aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) Carbasalate calcium is soluble in water, allowing a better dissolution and therefore a higher therapeutic effect. Aspirin is well known for its effect against pain, fever and inflammation.
Salicylates alleviate pain by virtue of a peripheral action; direct effects on the CNS also may be involved.
Salicylates usually lower elevated body temperatures rapidly and effectively. However, moderate doses that produce this effect also increase oxygen consumption and metabolic rate. In toxic doses, this compound have a pyretic effect that results in sweating; this enhances the dehydration that occurs in salicylate intoxication.
Sodium Ascorbate stimulates the body defenses and complete aspirin action.
Indication:
It exerts immunomodulatory, analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory activities. It minimizes the effects of heat stress, allostatic load, ascites and leg disorders. It enhances growth performance & egg production of poultry. It increases body weight, improves FCR & reduces mortality.
Dosage and Administration:
Poultry: 0.5 gm/Liter of drinking water for 2-3 consecutive days.
Cattle: 3-8 gm/50-150kg BW for 2-3 consecutive days.
