Composition:
Each gram powder contains Metronidazole BP 300 mg.
Indication:
Poultry: Anaerobic bacterial infections, Histomoniasis, Trichomoniasis etc.
Pigeon: Trichomoniasis (Canker), Histomoniasis.
Animals: Anaerobic bacterial infections, Metritis, Endometritis, Vaginitis, Trichomoniasis, Giardiasis, Gingivitis, Amoebic dysentery and calf scour. Post-operative treatment after colonic surgery & inflammatory bowel disease.
Mode of action:
Amodis-Vet powder diffuses into the organism, inhibits protein synthesis by interacting with DNA and causing a loss of helical DNA structure and strand breakage. Therefore, it causes cell death in susceptible protozoa and anaerobic bacteria.
Dosage and Administration:
Poultry: 1 gm/2-3 L drinking water daily for 5 days.
Pigeon: 20 mg/kg once daily for 5 days or 50 mg/kg body weight on alternate days for 3 treatments.
Livestock: 4 gm/25 kg body weight daily for 5-7 days.
Or, as directed by the veterinary physician.
Contraindication:
The drug should not be used in animals hypersensitive to active ingredients.
Side Effect:
Usually salivation, vomiting, decreased appetite, gastro-intestinal upset etc. may occur.
Drug Interaction:
Barbiturates, warfarin etc. should not be used in conjunction with metronidazole.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation:
It should be avoided in pregnant animals, especially in the first trimester and it should not be used in lactating animals.
Withdrawal Period:
Meat, Milk & Egg: Not known.

Store in a cool & dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
