Presentation:
Each ml Levobac Vet oral solution contains Levofloxacin Hemihydrate USP equivalent to Levofloxacin 100 mg.
Description:
Levobac Vet is a synthetic, broad-spectrum, third generation fluoroquinolone derivative bactericidal antibiotic that actively killing bacteria by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase or the topoisomerase-IV enzyme, thereby inhibiting DNA replication and transcription. Levobac Vet used in prevention and treatment of Poultry CRD.
Indications:
Levobac Vet oral solution is effective against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria, Mycoplasma and anaerobic organisms. Its wide spectrum of activity includes the pathogenic organisms like E. coli, Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Klebsiella spp., Pseudomonas aeroginosa, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Mycoplasma spp., Clostridium perfringes and Camphylobacter. Diseases produced by these organism in poultry can effectively be treated with Levobac Vet oral solution.

Dosage & Administration:
Levobac Vet oral solution can be administered through drinking water at the
following dosage rateFor treatment:
1 ml per 1-2 litre of drinking water or 20 mg/kg body weight for 3-5 days.
For Prevention:
1 ml per 2-4 litre of drinking water or 10 mg/kg body weight for 3-5 days.

Or as directed by the registered Veterinarian.
Adverse Effects:
Levofloxacin is well tolerated for poultry at recommended dose. However, it may cause developmental cartilage abnormalities.
Precautions:
After the end of treatment, the watering system should be cleaned appropriately to prevent drug resistance. It should not be used for poultry resistant to any Quinolone derivative because cross resistance may develop. In case of broilers the drug should be withdrawn “4” four Days prior to slaughter & for layer should be withdrawn within “7” seven days prior to laying period.
Contraindications:
Levofloxacin is not recommended to use in combination with Chloramphenicol,Macrolides and Tetracyclines.
Drug Interactions:
Magnesium & Aluminium containing substances may hamper the absorption of
Levofloxacin from GI tract.
