"indication": "Renacef injection is indicated for - the treatment of wide variety of infections caused by sensitive gram-positive, gram-negative and anaerobic organisms - • Respiratory tract infections (Broncho-Pneumonia, Pneumonia) • Uro-genital tract infections (Metritis, Nephritis, Pyometra, Cystitis) • Visceral infections and peritonitis • Gastro-intestinal tract infections (Calf scours, Enteritis, Diarrhoea) • Mastitis • Meningitis • Skin & soft tissue infections • Post-operative bacterial infections. As well as this drug has high potential application in septicemia, serious bone and joint infections, some lower respiratory tract infections, intra-abdominal infections and some soft tissue infections.",
"dosage": "Route of administration : For deep intramuscular use. General dose of Ceftriaxone is 3-5 mg/kg body weight. Preparation of solution for IM injection: • Add 3.5 ml of 1% Lidocaine USP into the vial of Renacef vet 1g injection and shake the vial well until the powder dissolved properly. • Add 7 ml of 1% Lidocaine USP into the vial of Renacef vet 2g injection and shake the vial well until the powder dissolved properly. Cattle/Buffalo/Calves: 1ml /15-25 kg body weight (10mg/kg) deep IM daily for 3-5days. Horse: 1ml/11kg body weight (25mg/kg) deep IM twice daily for 3-5days. Goat/Sheep: 1ml/14kg body weight (20mg/kg) deep IM twice daily for 3-5days. Dog/Cat: 1ml/11kg body weight (25mg/kg) deep IM once/twice daily for 3-5days. Zoo animal: 1ml/28kg body weight (10mg/kg) deep IM daily for 3-5days. The use of freshly reconstituted solution is recommended. Or, as directed by the registered Veterinarian.",
"precaution": "Do not administer Renacef® (vet) in IV route dissolved with lidocaine 1% solution USP. Ceftriaxone should not be given in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cephalosporin molecule.",
"use_in_pregnancy": "Reproductive studies have been performed in mice and rats at doses up to 20 times the usual dose and have no evidence of embryotoxicity, fetotoxicity or teratogenicity. Low concentration of ceftriaxone is excreted through milk; caution should be exercised when ceftriaxone is administered to a lactating animal",
