Marbac Vet: Each Bolus contains Marbofloxacin BP 50 mg. Marbac DS Vet: Each Bolus contains Marbofloxacin BP 100 mg.
Description:
Marbofloxacin is a synthetic, broad-spectrum, third generation Fluoroquinolone derivative bactericidal antibacterial agent that actively killing bacteria by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase or the topoisomerase-IV enzyme, thereby inhibiting DNA replication and transcription. It is dedicated only for animal use.
Indications:
Marbofloxacin is effective against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria, mycoplasma and anaerobic organisms. Marbofloxacin is also indicated for the treatment of neonatal gastro-enteritis caused by E.Coli, severe respiratory infections, acute mastitis, dirrhoea & gastro-enteritis
Infection.
Dosage and Administration:
The recommended Marbac Vet Bolus generic dose is 1 mg/kg/day for 3
consecutive days.
Marbac Vet : Ruminant-1 Bolus/ 50 kg body weight for 3 consecutive days.
Marbac DS Vet : Ruminant-1 Bolus/ 100 kg body weight for 3 consecutive days.
Or as advised by the registered Veterinarian.
Side Effects:
At the recommended dosage, no undesirable effect is expected. At twice the dosage, sometimes greenish coloration of the faeces is observed, but this is reversible when the treatment is discontinued.
Contraindications:
Marbofloxacin is not recommended to use in the case of resistant bacteria to other Fluroquinolone & in animals with known hypersensitivity to Marbofloxacin.
Drug Interactions:
Compounds like sucralfate, antacids, and mineral supplements which
containing divalent and trivalent cations may reduce Marbofloxacin
activity.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation:
Marbac Vet may be used safely during pregnancy & lactation
Withdrawal Period:
Meat- 6 days, Milk- 36 hours
