Description:
Pif R Vet is a potent, non-narcotic, non-steroidal agent. It is used as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory & antipyretic drug.
Composition:
Each mL Pif R Vet contains Flunixin Meglumine USP equivalent to Flunixin 50 mg.
Mode of action:
Pif R Vet blocks the production of prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzyme, modifying the inflammation reaction and blocking the transmission of pain.
Indications & Usages:
Pif R Vet is indicated for rapid relief of Pain, Inflammation & Fever in the following conditions:
✓ Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD)
✓ Endotoxemia
✓ Mastitis
✓ Metritis
✓ Muscular fatigue
✓ Lameness
✓ Arthritis & Gout
Dosage & Administration:
Cattle, Buffalo: 2mL/45 kg body weight IM/ IV injection once daily; 3 days.
Dog: 0.5 mL/25 kg body weight IM/ IV injection once daily; 3 days.
Horse: 1mL/45 kg body weight IM/ IV injection once daily; 5 days.
Or, as per direction of registered Veterinarian/Consultant.
Contraindications:
Do not use in animals showing hypersensitivity to Flunixin.
Precautions:
Flunixin should not be used in animals with active GI bleeding or ulceration. NSAIDs should be avoided or every carefully monitored in animals in animals with liver or kidney disease.
Side Effects:
There are relatively few side effects assorted with Flunixin. The most common side effects are
diarrhea.
Drug Interactions:
Avoid combining with other anti-inflammatory drugs that trends to predispose animals towards GI ulcers, such as corticosteroids and other NSAIDs.
Use in Pregnancy :
Flunixin can be used during pregnancy.
Withdrawal Period:
Milk – 1 day
Meat – 4 days
Storage Condition:
Store below 30˚ temperature. Keep away from light and wet place. Keep out of reach of children.
Presentation:
Pif R Vet IM/ IV injection: Each cartoon contains one vial of 10 mL or 30 mL Pif R Vet IM/ IV
Injection. Each mL contains Flunixin Meglumine USP equivalent to Flunixin 50 mg.
