Each 10 g powder contains Pefloxacin Mesylate Dihydrate BP equivalent to 1g Pefloxacin.
Description
Bactericidal effect of Peflox Vet (Pefloxacin) is due to its ability to inhibit the activity of bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase which is responsible for the supercoiling of bacterial DNA.
Indications
Poultry : Peflox Vet (Pefloxacin) is indicated for the disease of poultry caused by bacteria and mycoplasma such as Salmonellosis,
Colisepticemia, CRD, Infectious Coryza, Pasteurellosis, Mycoplasmosis and for secondary bacterial infection followed by viral infection such as Gumboro and Newcastle diseases. Fish & Shrimp: Peflox Vet (Pefloxacin) is indicated for the disease of fish & shrimp such as
Aromonus, Septicemia, Furunculosis, Columnaria, Vivriosis, Bacterial Gill etc.
Side Effects
It is well tolerated & no side effect has been observed.
Precaution & Warning
Egg production may be reduced, if used in laying chicken.
Contraindication
Contraindicated in animals with known hypersensitivity to Pefloxacin.
Drug interaction
It shows antagonistic reaction if use with chloramphenicol, macrolides or nitrofurans. It's effectiveness may be decreased if use with iron,
magnesium, aluminium or zinc.
Withdrawal period
Meat : Meat must not be consumed up to 7 days after administration of this medicine.
Storage
Store below 30° C and dry place, protected from light.
