Composition
Doloryl Vet 100 mg: Each bolus contains Carprofen USP 100 mg.
Doloryl Vet 500 mg: Each bolus contains Carprofen USP 500 mg.
Pharmacology
Carprofen is a NSAID's and possesses anti-inflamatory, analgesic & antipyretic activity. Carprofen inhibits COX enzyne. A single dose has been shown to reduce prostaglandin E2 production and
inflammatory exudate and leukotriene B-4 is inhibited.
Indication
For the prevention & treatment of fever, ketosis, grass tetany, convulsion, eclampsia & agalactia. For reducing farrowing period & stillbirth. It is also indicated for increasing milk production, fattening & general debility.
Dosage and Administration
Route of administration: Oral administration only.
Cattle: 2 mg/kg body weight orally once daily.
Horses: 0.7 mg/kg body weight orally once daily for up to 4 or 9 days.
Dogs: 2-4 mg/kg body weight daily divided doses for 7 days & then 2 mg once daily.
Sheep: 4 mg/kg body weight orally once daily.
Birds/Reptiles: 1-4 mg/kg body weight orally once daily.
For the control of postoperative pain administer approximately 2 hours before the procedure.
Or as directed by the registered Veterinarian.
