Description
DedicefTM Vet is an off-white colored highly water soluble powder. DedicefTM Vet is a broad spectrum bactericidal antibiotic which is effective against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria including B-lactamase enzyme producing strains.
Composition
Each vial of Dedicef TM Vet Injection 0.5 g contains:
Ceftiofur Sodium USP sterile powder equivalent to Ceftiofur 0.5 g powder for injection.
Each vial of DedicefTM Vet Injection 1g contains:
Ceftiofur Sodium USP sterile powder equivalent to Ceftiofur 1 g powder for injection.
Mode of Action
Dedice!TM Vet consists of Ceftiofur Sodium (the ß-lactamase resistant cephalosporin), exert its bactericidal effects by preventing bacterial cell wall synthesis and disrupting bacterial cell wall integrity.
Indications
Cattle
DedicefTM Vet is indicated for the treatment of bovine respiratory disease (shipping fever, pneumonia) associated with Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida & Histophilus somni, acute bovine interdigital necrobacillosis (foot rot, pododermatitis) associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum & Bacteroides melaninogenicus.
Goat
DedicefTM Vet is indicated for the treatment of caprine respiratory disease (goat pneumonia) associated with Mannheimia haemolytica & Pasteurella multocida.
Sheep
DedicefTM Vet is indicated for the treatment of sheep respiratory disease (sheep pneumonia) associated with Mannheimia haemolytica & Pasteurella multocida.
Horse
DedicefTM Vet is indicated for the treatment of respiratory infections in horses associated with Streptococcus zooepidemicus.
Dog
DedicefTM Vet is indicated for the treatment of canine urinary tract infections associated with Escherichia coll & Proteus mirabilis.
Day old Chicks
DedicefTM Vet is indicated for the control of early mortality, associated with E.coli organisms susceptible to Ceftiofur, in day old chick.
Day old Turkey Poults
Dedice!TM Vet is indicated for the control of early mortality, associated with E.coli organisms susceptible to Ceftiofur, in day old turkey poults.
Direction for Reconstitution
• Dedicef TM Vet 0.5 g Injection: Reconstitute with 10 ml sterile water for injection (WFI) gradually into the vial. Shake well until the powder dissolves properly.
• Dedicef Vet 1 g Injection: Reconstitute with 20 ml sterile water for injection (WFI) gradually into the vial, Shake well until the powder dissolves properly.
Each mL of the resulting solution contains Ceftiofur Sodium USP equivalent to 50 mg Ceftiofur.

Contraindications
Should not be administered to the animals hypersensitive to Ceftiofur.
Adverse Effect
The use of Ceftiofur may result in some signs of immediate and transient local pain to the animal.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
The effects of Ceftiofur on the reproductive performance, pregnancy, and lactation have not been determined,
Storage Condition
Store powder for injection at 2-8 °C temperature, Keep away from light & wet place. Store reconstituted injection at 2-8 °C temperature for up to seven (7) days or at 20-25 ° C for up to twelve (12) hours. Keep out of reach of children.
