DESCRIPTION:
Qtill ® S Vet is a broad-spectrum semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic. It has an antibacterial spectrum that is predominantly effective against Mycoplasma, Pasteurella, Haemophilus and various gram-positive organisms. Cross-resistance between tilmicosin and other macrolideantibiotics has been observed. It is also found at fairly high concentrations in liver and kidney tissue. Tilmicosin is excreted mainly via the bile into the faeces and small proportion excreted via the urine.
COMPOSITION:
Each mL Qtill ® S Vet solution contains Tilmicosin Phosphate INN equivalent to Tilmicosin 250 mg.
MODE OF ACTION:
Tilmicosin Phosphate binding with bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit and affects protein synthesis. They are typically regarded as being bacteriostatic, but at high concentrations can be bactericidal. When administered orally tilmicosin is rapidly absorbed and slowly eliminated from the body. Tilmicosin distributes rapidly to the target lung tissues as early as 6 hours and peak at about 5 days after the commencement of treatment.
INDICATIONS:
Qtill ® S Vet is used for the treatment of respiratory infection associated with tilmicosin susceptible microorganisms in chickens and turkeys such as -
• Mycoplasma spp.
• Pasteurella spp.
• Actinobacillus spp.
• Actinomyces spp.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Poultry
1 mL / 3 Liter of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Calves/Sheep/Goat
1 mL / 20 kg body weight for consecutive 3-5 days.
Or, as per direction of registered Veterinarian / Consultant.
PRECAUTIONS:
Concurrent use of Tilmicosin Phosphate with other macrolide, lincosamides, fluoroquinolone & penicillin is not advised.
ADVERSE EFFECTS:
Sometimes transient reduction of water intake may occur.
DRUG INTERACTION:
Use of Tilmicosin Phosphate with other macrolid may grow cross resistance.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Broiler: 12 days
Turkey: 19 days
STORAGE:
Store below 30 °C temperature. Keep away from light and wet place. Keep out of reach of children.
