Description
Aject DS Vet is a white crystalline powder for solution for injection for the treatment of bacterial infections susceptible to amoxicillin.
Composition
Each pack contains a vial of Amoxicillin Sodium BP equivalent to Amoxicillin 2 g and 1 ampoule of Water for Injection USP 10 mL.
Indications
Aject DS Vet injection is active against penicillin sensitive gram positive and gram negative bacteria. It is effective against various diseases like mastitis, metritis, gastroenteritis, salmonellosis, calf scour, bronchopneumonia, pharyngitis, umbilical infection, foot root, fever, campilobacilosis, urinary tract infections, black quarter, haemorrhagic septicemia, joint infection etc.
Mode of action
Aject DS Vet injection acts by inhibiting the mucopeptide synthesis in the bacterial cell wall. The beta-lactam moiety of Amoxicillin binds to carboxypeptidase, endopeptidase and transpeptidase in the bacterial cytoplasmic membrane. These enzymes are involved in cell-wall synthesis and cell division. By binding to these enzymes, Amoxicillin results in the formation of defective bacterial cell walls and cell division that results bacterial cell death.
Dosage & Administration
For Intra-Muscular (IM) or Subcutaneous (SC) route only.
Preparation of solution for Aject DS Vet injection:
Add 10 mL of sterile water for injection (WFI) into the 2 g vial of Aject DS Vet injection and shake well until the powder dissolved completely.
In general, 1 ml / 20 kg body weight (6-11 mg / Kg body weight), every 24 hours interval for 3-5 days Give injection in different sites in each time. Massage the injection site after administration. If dose volume exceed 20 ml, it should be administered at more than one site.
Cattle/Buffalo: 5 mL/100 Kg body weight daily by IM for 3- 5 days.
Goat/Sheep: 2.5 mL/50 kg body weight daily by IM for 3-5 days.
Dog: 0,5 mL / 10 kg body weight daily by IM or SC for 3-5 days.
Cat: 0.25 mL/5 kg body weight daily by IM or SC for 3-5 days.
Or, as per direction of registered veterinarian / consultant.
Withdrawal period Meat: 18 days: Milk: 1 day.
Contraindications
Should not be used in animals hypersensitive to Amoxicillin.
Side effect
No side effect at recommended dose. Sometimes hypersensitivity reactions and digestive instability may occur.
Use in pregnancy and lactation
Aject DS Vet injection is safe during pregnancy and lactating period.

Storage condition Store at or below 25 °C temperature. Keep away from light and wet place. Keep out of the reach of children.
