Composition
Each gm powder contains;
Chlortetracycline hydrochloride BP 200 mg
Mode of action
Eska-CTC® powder inactivates bacteria by binding to its 30s ribosomal subunit. As a result, bacteria cannot synthesize protein, which leads to its destruction.
Indication
Eska-CTC® powder is effective against a wide range of diseases caused by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, such as; Coliform, Septicemia, Omphalitis, Synovitis, Fowl cholera, Chronic Respiratory Diseases (CRD), Bronchitis, secondary bacterial infections of Newcastle disease and Coccidiosis in poultry. Eska-CTC® powder is also used in different bacterial infections of livestock and fish.
Dosage and Administration
Poultry
Treatment: 50 gm Eska-CTC® powder per 75 liters of water for 7 consecutive days, Or, 75-150 gm Eska- CTC® powder to be mixed with 100 kg feed for 7 consecutive days. For the treatment of CRD and CCRD 225-260 gm Eska- CTC® powder in addition with 30-35 gm Tialin®450 powder should be properly mixed per 100 kg of feed for 5-7 consecutive days.
For the prevention of disease and increased egg production in poultry: 40 gm Eska-CTC® powder should be mixed with 100 kg of feed & used continuously.
Or, as per direction of registered veterinarian / Consultant.
Withdrawal period
Meat: 10 days
Eggs: 3 days
Contraindication
Long term use of Eska-CTC® powder retards the synthesis of Vitamin B complex and Vitamin K.
Precaution
The use of Penicillin or streptomycin in addition with tetracycline group is contraindicated for different bacterial diseases of majority of animals. It should not be used with calcium, magnesium and iron. Once opened the packet should be used quickly. Store in a cool and dry place, away from light. Keep out of the reach of children.
Side effect
No serious side effect has been demonstrated. Sometimes weakness of nerves, hypotention, ataxia, weight loss may occur.
