Composition
Arbocin Vet: Bolus- Each bolus contains Marbofloxacin BP 50 mg.
Injection- Each ml contains Marbofloxacin BP 100 mg.
Arbocin Vet DS: Bolus- Each bolus contains Marbofloxacin BP 100 mg.
Pharmacology
Marbofloxacin is a 3rd generation fluoroquinolones that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase or topoisomerase IV, thus preventing DNA supercoiling and
replication.
Indications
Arbocin Vet & Arbocin Vet DS is effective against a wide range of diseases caused by both gram positive and gram negative bacteria such as acute mastitis, gastrointestinal disorder, severe respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infections associated with prostatitis or epididymitis, skin and soft tissue infections etc.
Dosage & administration
Route of administration: Oral & Injection
Arbocin Vet: Bolus- For oral administration only.
Livestock: 1 bolus/ 50 kg body weight once daily for 3-5 consecutive days. Dog/ Cat: 1 bolus/ 9-18 kg body weight once daily for 3-5 consecutive days.

Injection- For IV/IM/SC injection only.
Acute Mastitis: Livestock/ Pigs: 1 ml/50 kg body weight once daily for 3-5 consecutive days. The first injection may also be given by the IV route.
Respiratory infections: Livestock- Multiple Dose: 1 ml/50 kg body weight once daily for 3-5 consecutive days.

Single Dose: Livestock-1 ml/12.5 kg body weight.

Dog & Cat: Wounds, abscesses & Prevention of surgical infections: 1ml/50kg body weight in SC/ IV route once daily for 3-5 consecutive days. Urinary Tract Infections: 1ml/25kg body weight in SC route once daily for 3-5 consecutive days.
Arbocin Vet DS: Bolus- For oral administration only.
Livestock: 1 bolus/ 100 kg body weight once daily for 3-5 consecutive days.

Dog/ Cat: 1/2 bolus/ 9-18 kg body weight once daily for 3-5
consecutive days. Or, as directed by the registered Veterinary Physician.
Contraindication
Do not administer to an animal previously found hypersensitive to marbofloxacin or other quinolone.
Warning & precaution
A low urinary pH could have an inhibitory effect on the activity of marbofloxacin.
Side effects
Common side effects: Vomiting, diarrhea, inappetence and transient local reactions may occur.
Rare side effects: Incoordination, depression, CNS & cartilage abnormalities etc.
Use in pregnancy & lactation
It may be used in pregnancy & lactation.
Drug interaction
With medicine: Efficacy may be reduced after using marbofloxacin with antacids, cyclosporine, flunixin, iron, zinc etc.
With food & others: No interaction were found with feed.
Overdose
Overdose may cause acute neurological disorders. No specific antidote is known, only symptomatic treatments are recommended.
Safety Margin
Arbocin Vet & Arbocin Vet DS is well tolerated by the animals. No sign of overdose has been observed after administration of 3 times the recommended dose.
Withdrawal time
Meat- Meat must not be consumed up to 6 days after administration of this medicine & Milk- Milk must not be consumed up to 1.5 days after administration of this medicine.
Storage
Store below 30° C temperature and dry place, protected from light. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
